After School Program
Freestone’s After School Program is a great starting point for any young athlete interested in climbing. No prior experience needed! Our After School Program uses a combination of instruction and games to expand your child’s knowledge of climbing. The curriculum of the program focuses on safety, technique, and terminology. Our coaches give your climbers the encouragement and tools they need to progress in the sport and move up onto our other youth teams.
Ages
Ages 5-11
Mondays, Tuesdays, and/or Wednesdays 4:30pm-5:30pm
Ages 12-18
Thursdays 4:30pm-5:30pm
Pricing
$125/month for one day/week
Includes a free membership, free rental gear during classes, and all of our membership benefits.

Can I try out a practice or two before deciding I want to join the After School Program?
Definitely! Please reach out to kids@freestoneclimbing.com to schedule a time to come in and join a practice.
Are there prerequisites to join the program?
No! The After School Program is designed as a starting point for brand new climbers. Most climbers will begin in our After School Program, move to the Club Team, and then progress to the Competitive Team, although there are exceptions. Coaches observe and work with each athlete in our youth programs and will recommend a more appropriate environment if needed. We want to place our athletes in an environment that is a best fit for them.
What’s the missed practice policy?
Due to the number of participants and limited space we do not offer make-up classes, for any reason. Please let a staff member or coach know if your climber will miss a class in advance.
Additionally, the After School Program will not hold practice during the following holidays:
Week of Thanksgiving
Week of Christmas
Can we climb outside of practice times?
Yes! All of our kids programs dues include a free personal membership for your climber. We do highly encourage participants to use their memberships outside of class time to climb with parents. All climbers under 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We offer free belay lessons to parents who want to bring their kids in to climb outside of the normal class times!
Does Freestone offer financial support?
Yes, we offer need based scholarships on a case by case basis. Please email kids@freestoneclimbing.com for more information.
